This is the story of a little boy thrust into a world of magic and mystery, where friends are found in unlikely places and evil lurks around every corner. This is the story of a little boy, orphaned but not abandoned, rescued by witches and members of a secret society, hunted by his own mother, Jack must find it in himself to overcome the forces of evil.

Book I
The Legend Begins
The Queen of Evil is hatching a scheme for world domination. After seducing the good King Phillip of Windermere, Queen Mara gambles on conceiving a girl-child who she can use to unite the two kingdoms under her own iron-fisted rule.
But when a boy is born instead she must change her tactics – and more importantly, get rid of the unwanted child. Luckily her intentions are thwarted; her sister, Darcia, protector of the Black Forest, and the Secret Society, a group of citizens dedicated to protecting the world, manage to save Jack from Mara’s clutches. Now Jack, only a small child thrust into the world, must manage to survive while Mara and her minions hunt for him. Will he be able to survive the wrath of the Witch of Hagen?
Book II
The Legend Escapes
After witnessing the murder of his adoptive parents at the hands of Mara’s minions, Jack is hidden away at the Barrington Home for Boys by the Secret Society. Though safe for now, Jack must deal with the sadistic floor boss Shaker and his lackeys, who terrorize the orphans at every turn, as he tries to control his newfound but unruly magical abilities.
Meanwhile, the evil Queen Mara is marshaling her forces, razing village after village and scheming to undermine the authority of the Neutral Zone and the peace it provides in her bid to become ruler of both kingdoms. Will Jack survive? Can the Secret Society protect him?
Book III
The Legend Lives
The epic series continues as Jack, now escaped from Barrington, journeys in search of his past. Falling in with the Mummers, a rag-tag group of traveling performers, Jack discovers his talent for juggling – and magic! And when the Troupe is invited to perform at the King’s Banquet, Jack finds himself center stage, accused of a crime he didn’t commit! Meanwhile, Mara consolidates her forces and pushes the boundaries of the peace treaty, while Jill investigates the strange goings-on at the Roundabout, and a pair of new kings, one from the bitter-cold north, the other from an island paradise, arrive on the scene with plans of their own.
