Everyone knows the Jack-in-the-Box. For generations, children have turned the crank, heard the familiar tune, and waited for Jack to spring from the box. But Peter began wondering about the part no one seemed to know. Who was Jack? Why was he in the box? And what if, somewhere behind the familiar toy, there was a story waiting to be told?

That question became the beginning of The Legend of Jack.

What began as curiosity soon became something much larger. Peter started researching the history, folklore, and countless references surrounding Jack, following one question wherever it led. Slowly, a world began to take shape—kingdoms and characters, secrets and betrayals, friendships and enemies, and a young man whose story was far bigger than the box that would one day bear his name.

The deeper Peter went, the more Jack’s story seemed to reveal itself. What started as an idea for a single book grew into an epic adventure spanning generations, kingdoms, and an expanding world where the familiar Jack-in-the-Box is no longer simply a toy. It is the remnant of a legend.

Peter was born in Boston and has spent most of his life on the South Shore of Massachusetts. Long before becoming an author, he built a career as a licensed general contractor—a profession he has practiced for nearly four decades. Over the years, he became something of a “Jack of all trades,” a coincidence that seems particularly fitting considering where his imagination eventually led him.

Writing, however, required building something entirely different. Instead of houses and projects, Peter found himself constructing kingdoms, histories, characters, and a mythology of his own. The tools changed, but the process was surprisingly familiar: start with an idea, build it piece by piece, and keep working until what once existed only in your imagination begins to feel real.

Today, The Legend of Jack has grown into a continuing series, with each book revealing more of Jack’s journey and the world surrounding him. What began with one unanswered question has expanded into kingdoms, rivalries, unlikely alliances, ancient secrets, and characters whose lives continue to reshape the legend.

And the story is far from finished. Peter continues to develop Jack’s world, following its characters into new places and discovering, much as his readers do, where the legend will lead next.
